Strategies to relieve stress

  • Meditation: just 10 minutes per day make a big difference.
  • Fun, joy, awe and relaxation: no less than 1 hr per day and for 1 whole day per week.
  • Yoga, exercise, sex.
  • Comedy and laughter.
  • Bubble baths: vanilla and lavender increase endorphins.
  • Hugging loved ones and snuggling with pets.
  • Creative expression: journaling, painting, dancing, singing, drawing, playing music.
  • Play 2 goods and a bad: what are two good things and one bad thing that happened that day. What could you have done better and what are you grateful for regarding each? Journal or talk this out with a friend.
  • Nature: walking in a green space, walk barefoot in the sand or the grass, watch the sunset, go to the zoo.
  • For a few minutes everyday: practice mindfulness while belly breathing (inhale for 5 seconds exhale for 8 expanding the belly)…
    • Smell the air
    • Notice the way your body feels against the chair or clothing
    • Listen to the sounds in the air
  • Create a Mantra:
    • What do you want in your life?
  • Construct the mantra: pick the top three things you want in your life and realize that to receive these things, all you have to do is BE them. For example, if you want love, be loving, if you want connection, be connected, if you want joy, be joyful, if you want power, be powerful.

Use this mantra every time life throws a curve ball and it will remind you that you are the source of all things in your world. This is incredibly healing to your adrenal glands and empowers you to create what you envision.
